I am originally from Willoughby, a suburb on the east side of Cleveland. I attended Willoughby South High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1999. I received my Bacherlors degree in Life Science Education in May 2003 and my Masters degree in Educational Technology in August 2009, both at Ashland University . During college I was active in many organizations, including Alpha Phi Sorority, Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, and Community Cares Volunteer Organization. I received the Department of Biology/Toxicology Senior Scholarship Award from Ashland University in May of 2003.

When I am not teaching, I spend a lot of my time volunteering as an Edzoocator at the Akron Zoo or taking classes at TCCSA or Ashland University. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, bowling, shopping, camping, kayaking, and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing catch and spending time with my puppy Kipton, a 1 year old West Highland White Terrier.

I am currently in my ninth year of teaching at Hillsdale High School. I enjoyed my first eight years and hope this year goes just as well, or better. I am also technology coordinator at the high school and science department chairperson. I'm a member of OEA, HEA, and SECO.
